César Arredondo (born 1978 El Paso, Texas)

Self taught painter and photographer.

The only formal training César received was in his high schools Art Majors program. After high school he continued to learn photography by recreating what he saw in fashion magazines and documenting the world around him. His fascination with the decay he saw in the neighborhoods he grew up in would later become the basis for his painting style and subject matter. Through his paintings he recreates the beautiful often unintentional abstract compositions created by decades of painting over the same wall by local graffiti artists in the towns he grew up in.
